In a world where Brangelina are over and Taylor Swift can't keep a Hiddleston or Harris, here comes Bindi Irwin and her boyfriend Chandler Powell to help us believe in celebrity love all over again.

The young couple sat down for their first joint TV interview with , direct from Bindi's stomping ground of Australia Zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. And yes, her 19-year-old US wakeboarder beau wore khakis!

Bindi, 18, took the lead in explaining how her boyfriend of three years is "kind of like my soulmate", as he gazed at him adoringly.

"It's challenging for us because our relationship has been long distance for a long time," she said. "I mean, we met three years ago now and people are always wondering whether we're engaged or married. No marriage in the kinda right now – that's years and years away. I think you feel the same?"

Chandler smiled and said they're just "enjoying the now, and enjoying being together." Cute!

If that wasn't sweet enough, wait till you hear how Chandler won over the Aussie wildlife conservationist and former winner.

After meeting her for the first time, Chandler wanted to stay in touch with her, but wasn't sure how.

So, he wrote a note to her mum Terri…as you do.

"Mum gave the letter to me," Bindi gushed. "And we stayed in touch ever since."

Not only that, but her Florida-born action man is now following in her late father Steve Irwin's footsteps by wrestling crocodiles for research at Australia Zoo.

And when he first got the chance to wear the khakis, it was a big deal indeed. "It's this really big thing for me," Bindi said.

"It was kind of one of those moments that was a real defining moment for me, because you know, it's only the people who are the closest to us that get their khakis."

"So it was kind of like, this really big step," she added, telling Chandler, "I love seeing you in khaki now. It makes me so happy." Sigh…ain't young love grand?
