A body has been found in a caravan following a fire at a holiday park on the NSW south coast.

The blaze broke out in Millingandi, north of Pambula, about 3.35pm on Saturday.

Other visitors tried to get to the van but were forced back by the flames, which spread to another four vans and two cars.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and found the body, which has not yet been identified.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
