A body has been found near the motorcycle of a Launceston man missing since July.

Michael Hamlyn's Suzuki was found on Saturday morning by a trail bike rider in the Fingal area.

Police were called and a search found a body nearby.

The body is yet to be formally identified, but police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Hamlyn, also known as Miguel Williams, 20, was last seen on July 11 leaving his Mowbray home heading to work on a black Suzuki motorcycle.

Police had previously said there were sightings of Mr Hamlyn south of Launceston at Perth and in the Fingal Valley on the day he vanished.
