A 14-year-old boy has been charged after a four wheel drive flipped down an embankment and smashed into a house on the Gold Coast after Christmas.

The vehicle hit a fence before swerving down the slope and crashing into the property in Keegan Circuit, Currumbin Waters, police said.

A number of teenagers were in the car in the incident late on December 27, but no one was injured when they fled the scene.

The boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured, driving without due care and failing to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.
