A 16-year-old boy from South Australia has been charged with abducting a baby girl in Queensland.

Police issued an amber alert early on Saturday morning after the 10-month-old girl went missing from a home at Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast.

Officers suspected the girl had been taken by a 16-year-old boy and may have also been with a 19-year-old man - both known to the child.

She was found in Toowoomba later on Saturday.

The 16-year-old was charged with child abduction and will be dealt with under the Youth Justices Act.
