A 16-year-old boy who allegedly attacked a Gold Coast bus driver on Wednesday night has been remanded in custody.

The teenager faced Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday morning but did not apply for bail and the case was adjourned until January 11.

Police will allege that the boy punched the driver in the face and attempted to steal the vehicle's cash tin before leaving the bus.

He is accused of later re-boarding the bus and attempting to assault the driver again.

Another passenger was then allegedly required to remove the boy from the bus before the police arrived.

It is the second violent incident allegedly involving Gold Coast teens in two days.

Three youths aged 14, 15 and 16 have faced court charged with offences relating to a one-punch attack in Surfers Paradise on Wednesday morning, which left a 21-year-old man fighting for his life in hospital.
