A 10-year-old boy has been killed and four teenage boys and a man have been injured in a highway crash in WA.

The Mitsubishi Pajero hit a drainage channel while towing a trailer on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway and rolled over east of the abandoned town of Widgiemooltha around 6.30pm on Wednesday, police said.

The youngest passenger died, while the driver, a 43-year-old man, and four boys aged between 13 and 16 were taken to Kalgoorlie Hospital with various injuries.
