Bupa Australia boss to step down

The head of Australia's second largest private health insurer, Bupa, is stepping down and will be replaced by the man currently in charge of its UK operations.

Bupa Australia and New Zealand managing director Dean Holden will leave the group at the end of 2016 after 30 years with the health insurer, including 18 years as an executive.

Richard Bowden, the managing director of Bupa UK and former managing director of Bupa Australia, will take control of the Australian and New Zealand operations on January 1.
