A bushwalker who spent a freezing night lost in the Blue Mountains without any food, water or camping equipment has been found.

Search teams rescued the 32-year-old man at Wentworth Pass about 8.40am on Friday, and he's believed to be suffering an injured ankle and hypothermia.

The man called for help on Thursday evening after losing his bearings while walking in Wentworth Falls.

Police say he's being assessed by paramedics for his injuries.
