An allegedly stolen car containing a sword and replica revolver crashed into a brick fence after a police chase through Perth's south-east.

Police say two men, aged 26 and 32, broke into a Thornlie home about 11pm on Sunday, stealing the car, cash and other valuables.

The pair took police on a chase through Maddington and at times travelled on the wrong side of the road, before hitting the brick fence and running into nearby scrub until they were found by police dog Ernie.

The men have been charged with aggravated burglary, stealing and criminal damage.
