Car plunges into NSW river, woman critical

A woman has been left in a critical condition after a car careered into a river in NSW's northeast.

Police believe the sedan left the Tweed Valley Way at Condong, south of Tweed Heads, just before 1.50pm on Friday and plunged into the Tweed River.

A female passenger was taken to Tweed Hospital with critical injuries while the driver, a woman in her 30s, was taken to the same hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
