An alleged car thief has been charged, accused of throwing a tomahawk at a woman's vehicle, dragging her from behind the wheel and reversing into police during a wild chase in Perth.

Three officers were injured and three police cars were damaged during the pursuit through Hamilton Hill and Spearwood on Friday morning.

The chase started as a bid to stop the driver of a stolen car.

A stinger was deployed and deflated the car's tyres and a passenger ran away.

A 23-year-old man has been charged, accused of being the driver and ditching the vehicle in an underground shopping centre car park.

It is alleged he stole the 46-year-old woman's car as police tried to taser him, reversing into three officers, who were left with cuts.

One may have a dislocated shoulder and another concussion.

The Hilton man is charged with 28 offences, including six counts of assault to prevent arrest, three counts of reckless driving and two counts of vehicle theft.

He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

A 33-year-old man accused of being a passenger has also been arrested.
