Charges over Vic teen rubbish truck death

A man has been charged over the death of a 17-year-old girl who was hit by a rubbish truck in Melbourne in February.

The teenager was crossing the road at the intersection of Cranbourne-Frankston Road and Long Street in Langwarrin when she was hit by the truck about 8.10am on February 16.

She was airlifted to hospital where she later died.

A 54-year-old Frankston man is charged with dangerous driving causing death and other traffic offences and has been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.
