All charges have been dropped against a man accused of a triple shooting that killed a Perth father and injured two others.

Brock Kevin Johnston, 28, appeared in the WA Supreme Court on Monday via video link from Casuarina prison, charged with murdering 23-year-old Mitchell Finnerty in Banksia Grove on April 26.

He was also accused of attempting to kill Coffin Cheaters bikie member Pellegrino Mule, 53, and his 24-year-old son Mark.

Johnston had pleaded not guilty and was due to face a trial next year, but instead, all three charges were discontinued after prosecutors conceded there was no reasonable prospect of conviction.

His lawyer, Michael Tudori, previously told reporters the incident was "nothing to do with any club war or anything like that".

Mr Finnerty became a father just three weeks before his death.
