Hundreds of high-flying Chinese delegates are arriving in South Australia on Thursday to be wined and dined.

The state is welcoming the 200 business and government figures, most from its Chinese sister province Shandong, to strengthen ties and boost trade between the areas.

The delegates will try local food and wines, visit the Royal Adelaide Show, watch a friendly basketball match between each region's team and visit Port Lincoln.
