Two teenage males have been charged with breaking into a Perth home and stealing presents from under a Christmas tree.

A 16 and 18-year-old broke into a Cloverdale home on Tuesday night while its occupants were asleep.

The residents woke up and disturbed the thieves, who fled with the presents.

However they were found nearby shortly after by police.

The presents were still wrapped and have been returned and the teens have been charged with aggravated burglary and stealing, and will face court in January.
