Consumer confidence flat in Aug: Westpac

Consumer confidence has been more or less flat for the past six months.

The Westpac-Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment rose by 0.3 per cent to a level of 101.4 points in September, from 101.0 points in August.

Westpac chief economist Bill Evans said the survey had averaged about 100.3 points since April.
