Australians remain optimistic about their finances and the wider economy with confidence jumping to a 10-week high.

Confidence jumped 2.8 per cent in the week ending December 3, according to the ANZ-Roy Morgan Australian Consumer Confidence Survey.

ANZ head of Australian economics Felicity Emmett said the result indicated the outlook for consumer spending was improving in the lead-up to Christmas.
