Coronation Street fans noticed something pretty strange in tonight's episode.

When Andy Carver paid Weatherfield villain Pat Phelan a visit in hospital, eagle-eyed viewers spotted something a little odd behind his bed.

In the background, there were almost 20 plug sockets on the wall.

The odd sight left those tuning in scratching their heads as they took to social media to poke fun at the strange set.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "I've been in loads of hospitals in my time but I've never been to one that has as many plug sockets like behind Phelan in @itvcorrie #Corrie."

Another then added: "Pat Phelen's obviously not too badly injured. He only has one device plugged in to the 16 sockets behind his hospital bed #corrie."

Moments later, a different viewer tweeted: "Is that number of sockets standard in the NHS? #Corrie #WeatherfieldGeneral."

Shortly afterwards, another commented: "#Corrie How many plug sockets are needed in one hospital room? @itvcorrie."

Back to what actually happened in tonight's episode, Phelan stooped to a new low when he blackmailed Andy into burgling the Bistro.

Unless he went through with the break-in, the Weatherfield villain threatened to tell the police about Andy's involvement in Michael Rodwell's death.

As it stands, Phelan has told police that it was Kevin Webster - but will he change his story?
