Two men are dead after separate road crashes in Queensland.

A 23-year-old man died when his ute left the road and rolled 10km south of Charters towers on Thursday night. His passenger, 19, suffered minor injuries.

Earlier on Thursday evening, a 31-year-old man died in hospital after the car he was driving veered onto the wrong side of the road and hit a ute in Brisbane.

The man who died was the sole occupant of the car.

The driver of the ute was not hurt.

The forensic crash unit is investigating both accidents.
