Five burglars allegedly helped themselves to cars at Christmas from Toyota's manufacturing plant in Melbourne.

Burglars took 14 cars and damaged two more cars in the process during two separate raids on the Altona plant on Christmas morning and on December 27, police allege.

Five of the cars have yet to be found, police said on Tuesday.

Two women and three men, aged 24 to 31, have been charged with theft-related offences.

Three of them have been remanded in custody to reappear in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court later this month and two of the alleged offenders have been bailed.
