Swiss driver Simona De Silvestro will stay with Nissan for her full-season debut in next year's Supercars Championship.

The former IndyCar driver, who will become first full-time female Supercars driver in 40 years, raced for Nissan when she finished 14th alongside Renee Gracie at the Bathurst 1000 last month.

De Silvestro, 28, debuted at last year's Bathurst and has a three-year deal to contest the championship.

"I really enjoyed driving for them (Nissan) at Bathurst," she said.

"I really enjoyed the car, so there were a lot of things I really liked. I'm sure at the other tracks I'm going to be able to adapt a lot quicker.

"Learning the tracks and working with the team will be a big challenge but looking forward to it."

She begins her full-time Supercars career in Adelaide in March.
