Emergency crews face a tricky rescue after a man fell through a roof in Melbourne.

Firefighters are using a cherry picker to help ambulance officers retrieve the victim who fell from a second storey roof onto the first storey in Altona Meadows on Saturday.

Once stabilised, the man, who has possible spinal injuries, will be lowered to the ground and taken to hospital.
