Brisbane have regained front-rower Mitchell Dodds after an injury plagued 2016 season in the English Super League.

The 27-year-old has signed a one-year NRL deal and will help to fill the void in the Broncos' pack following the retirement of Corey Parker and the loss of Jarrod Wallace to the Gold Coast.

"I just want to get back in the team and start playing some good rugby," Dodds said.

After appearing in the Broncos' 2015 grand final loss to North Queensland, Dodds departed to England however managed just two appearances off the bench for Warrington.

He missed the start of the season with a hand injury and broke his leg against Catalans in March before deciding to return to Australia.

After making his debut for the Broncos in 2010, he played 75 matches for the club.

His first outing for his new club could be against Warrington when the Broncos travel to the UK for the pre-season World Club Series.

Wayne Bennett's side will play the Super League runners up at Halliwell Jones Stadium on February 18.
