Finch reignites feud with curator

Australia's battle with Sri Lankan curators is far from over, with Aaron Finch hitting out at officials over Colombo's "poor" wicket for the opening one-day international.

Just days after the ground's curator labelled Australia's cricketers as "whingers" and "poor losers", the visitors chased down 227 on a turning wicket to claim the first match of the five-game series by three wickets on Sunday.

But with the second game of the series also slated for the ground, Finch was scathing in his review of the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium and the way it broke up.

"It was a pretty poor wicket I think all round," he said.

"I don't think I've ever played on a wicket that spun that much.

"From the second over of the game that was quite poor. And I think we played quite well to track down that total."

Concerns about Sri Lankan pitches were at the centre of Australia's doomed Test series campaign, which they lost 3-0.

The Aussies struggled to perform on what sections of the visiting media had claimed were doctored pitches, as they sunk to their ninth straight away loss against sub-continent teams.

One of their main frustrations is also believed to be the training wickets provided to them by home officials, which Finch again highlighted as a concern on Sunday.

"The wickets that we trained on were probably not even similar to be fair," he said.

"The ones next to it that we've been training on have been pretty good, they started to spin yesterday, late yesterday.

"I haven't seen any wickets (like the match one) that have spun to that extreme, especially in a one-day game, for a long time."

The issue also looks far from over, with the opening batsman again predicting another dry dustbowl for Wednesday's second match.

"The one that they have prepared out there for the following game looks identical to how this one looked two days ago.
