A young girl is in a stable condition after being attacked by two dogs at a Perth reserve.

The nine-year-old girl was attacked at Success Hill Reserve in Bassendean on Friday afternoon, and was rescued by a 16-year-old who was with her at the time, as the owner of the dogs fled.

It's believed the girl suffered severe face and leg injuries and was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital where she underwent surgery on Saturday.

The dogs and their owner have not been identified.
