He helped design Brisbane's Auckland Nines jersey.

But Broncos back-rower Alex Glenn is no guarantee of playing in it.

Glenn and Brisbane and Kiwi teammate Jordan Kahu came up with the Broncos' Maori-inspired, mint-coloured look for the 2017 Nines.

Glenn has played at the first three tournaments but is not taking Nines No.4 for granted as he returns from off-season shoulder surgery.

He is two weeks into his rehabilitation from a shoulder reconstruction that forced him to miss New Zealand's end of season Four Nations campaign.

"I'd love to go," Glenn told the Broncos website.

"It's just one of the greatest weekends of rugby league.

"Fingers crossed I get to wear the jersey that me and Jordy got to design."

Glenn said the Broncos' Nines jersey was inspired by Super Rugby's Waikato Chiefs strip.

"Because we've got a strong culture in New Zealand, the Nines are over there and there's a bunch of Kiwi boys at the Broncos it's good to give that a nod," Glenn told Fox Sports TV.

The Nines will kick off a big year for Glenn who is off contract and vying for the Broncos lock vacancy created by retired skipper Corey Parker.
