The Great Ocean Road has reopened almost a fortnight after it was closed due to landslides caused by Victoria's heavy rain and flooding.

Stabilisation and road-clearing works have allowed VicRoads to reopen all of the tourist road with the exception of a short section between Wye River and Separation Creek.

The route - which experienced more than 80 landslides above the road and 40 below on the ocean side - is now open to vehicles less than 12 metres long and under 12 tonnes, a VicRoads spokesman said on Monday.
