Green slip changes to affect motorists

Changes to the NSW compulsory third-party insurance scheme could mean most people injured on the road could lose their right to sue insurance companies for medical costs and lost wages.

Under the state government's plan to reform the green slip insurance scheme, motorists who suffer minor injuries would be given limited benefits to income replacement and medical benefits, Fairfax Media reports.

The reason for reform is reportedly a multimillion-dollar spike in fraudulent claims in Sydney's western suburbs.
