'Harmony' issues led plane bridge smash

A Malaysia Airlines plane rolled backwards hitting an aerobridge at Melbourne Airport after flight and ground crews and an engineer failed to properly communicate.

There were no injuries in the March 31, 2016 incident, when the plane rolled three metres into the aerobridge, damaging a plane door and the bridge.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau found procedures on the day surrounding the engagement of brakes and the removal of gear chocks were "not well harmonised", prompting the three operators involved to improve co-ordination.
