Capital city dwelling values rose by about 0.7 per cent in July, lifted driven by the buoyant Sydney and Melbourne markets.

But the average growth rate was weighed down by marginal falls in Brisbane and Perth, property market analytics firm CoreLogic said on Friday.

The preliminary estimate, based on price data for the first 28 days on July, will be updated by CoreLogic on Monday with more detailed data, including estimates of rental returns to investors.
