Gigi Hadid won the International Model of the Year Award at Monday night's star-studded Fashion Awards.

The beauty beat off stiff competition - including from her own sister - to be handed the prestigious gong by Donatella Versace.

Earlier in the night, the stunner turned heads when she walked the red carpet in London without her beau Zayn Malik in a futuristic-style Versace jumpsuit.

Gigi, who walked in the Victoria's Secret spectacular last week, hit The Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall along with her mother Yolanda Foster instead.

Joining stars such as Karlie Kloss, Kate Moss and Salma Hayek for the star-studded event, Gigi made an impact in a custom made a-symmetrical silver jumpsuit that looked like a ball gown from the back with a full train.

Rocking the Atelier Versace design had a black lining and even incorporated on-trend choker look with the fabric weaving from the bust up and around Gigi's neck.

The biggest night in British fashion for the newly re-branded awards, saw over 4000 guests packed in the iconic London venue to see the 14 coveted awards be handed out for this year's chosen ones.

Before Gigi took home her award, Caroline Rush CBE, the chief executive of the British Fashion Council, which runs the awards, said either one of the Hadid sisters would be a worthy winner.

"Bella and Gigi are two distinctive personalities who seem to have found their feet so young,” she said.

“Both are incredibly talented models but the nominations show that our voting panel also recognises the power of social media. Both young women are brilliant examples of businesswomen who have been able to harness the consumer demand to engage with the personality."

On the night, designer Ralph Lauren was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement award for his contribution to the industry and long-serving label, handed to him by David Beckham.
