Investigate mobile blackspot program: SA

A federal program to improve mobile coverage in rural areas should be urgently investigated as important sites are missing out, the SA government says.

SA Science Minister Kyam Maher has asked Auditor General Grant Hehir to investigate the use of funding for the mobile black spot program, after the locations of another 266 mobile base stations to be built were issued on Friday.

He says the 20 locations announced for SA, which are all in federal Liberal electorates, exclude areas the SA government had nominated like Wasleys, which was devastated by the Pinery bushfire last year.
