John Butler has organised a concert in Margaret River to draw attention to fracking in WA.

The Frack Off! concert will also feature WA artists the Pigram Brothers, Mama Kin and Ten Cent Shooters who will come together to raise awareness about the onshore gas industry in WA's Southwest.

Perth-based actor Peter Rowsthorn will MC the event.

Butler and the groups backing the concert - Jarrah Records, Gasfield Free Southwest and Lock the Gate - are concerned about the gas industry moving into the Whicher Range, 30km from Margaret River.

"Think about it this way: Who has the most to gain by telling you that the onshore gas industry is safe? The industry itself," Butler said.

"We have nothing to gain by having an onshore gas industry in our state but everything to lose."

Butler said the area's water, tourism and agricultural industries were at risk along with the health of the people living there.

Concert tickets have been kept at a low price to attract people to the event.

"We want as many people as possible to come along and get informed about what the gas industry has planned for our region and our state," Butler said.

* Frack Off! concert takes place on November 26 at the 3 Oceans Winery, Cowaramup, WA. Tickets are $20 plus booking fee for adults and $10 plus booking fee for children
