A Queensland jury has retired to consider its verdict for a man accused of the stabbing murder of his stepdaughter.

Raymond John Mead has pleaded not guilty to murdering Sherelle Locke while she was watching TV with her mother in Boronia Heights in February 2014.

The jury in his trial retired shortly before noon on Monday, having heard allegations Mead pinned down the 23-year-old and plunged the knife into her chest.
