Kate Hudson probably won't be presenting her biological father Bill Hudson with a Dad of the Year award in this lifetime.

The 36-year-old actress said she feels 'abandoned' by the 66-year-old musician while chatting with Jenny McCarthy on the latter's Sirius XM radio show.

Despite their difficult relationship, Kate still credits Bill with passing down his sense of humour to her and her brother, actor Oliver Hudson, 39. Hmm…wonder if her mum, legendary comedy queen Goldie Hawn, 70, deserves any credit.

Bill and Goldie divorced in 1982 when Kate was three. She's always said she considers her actual dad to be Kurt Russell, 64, who has been her mum's partner since 1983.

Kate's chilly relationship with Bill iced over last year on Father's Day after Oliver posted a throwback photo of the trio with the caption "Happy Abandonment Day".

Bill promptly and publicly disowned them both, but the three eventually started to smooth over decades of rockiness.

"It actually started a dialogue," Oliver told Andy Cohen on in November. "We're communicating now. [I] had an amazing three-hour conversation with him…We're texting, trying to see each other. So, you know, we might be mending something."

Judging from Kate's comments, they've still got a long way to go.
