A-League and W-League players have voted Marco Rojas and Sam Kerr to win the competitions' player-of-the-month awards for December.

Rojas, the Melbourne Victory winger, claimed his second-straight prize after scything through his opposition, scoring three goals and assisting twice in three matches last month.

Matilda representative Kerr outdid her male counterpart, scoring five times as Perth Glory established themselves as a legitimate W-League title threat.

The award was especially sweet for Kerr, 23, who missed much of last season and the Olympic qualifiers with a ruptured ligament in her foot.

"Having missed a lot of last season through injury it is great to be back playing and winning games," she said.

"It is very tight the race for the championship and I see no reason why we can't go all the way this season."

The awards are organised by Professional Footballers Australia.
