Nicole Kidman has continued her march towards the Oscars, but Joel Edgerton and Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge has hit a speed bump after they were snubbed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination ceremony.

Kidman, as expected, received a supporting actress nomination for Lion on Wednesday for the January 29 SAG Awards, but Edgerton missed out in the best actor category for Loving while Hacksaw Ridge failed to get a nod in the best ensemble category.

The SAG nomination ceremony is considered one of the biggest tests for Oscar-bound actors and films, along with the Golden Globes, where Kidman, Edgerton and Hacksaw Ridge all successfully received nods two days ago.
