Klitschko eyeing Joshua fight, not Fury

Wladimir Klitschko's management on Tuesday all but ruled out a heavyweight world title rematch against Briton Tyson Fury after his latest antics.

Manager Bernd Boente said such a bout "is not an issue anymore" and that the Klitschko camp has started talks with British IBF world champion Anthony Joshua about a possible title fight.

"We are only looking ahead now," Boente said.

Fury dethroned Klitschko as IBF, WBA and WBO world champion by beating him on points last November in Germany but has since cancelled the rematch twice, for medical reasons.

On Tuesday, he announced on social media he was retiring, only to backtrack a few hours later and vowing to return stronger than before. Fury also faces a hearing into a charge for an alleged doping violation in November.

Fury has by now been stripped of the IBF title because he refused to fight against a mandatory challenger, and Boente said he expects the WBO and WBA to end his reign for inactivity.

"They will decide soon, the titles are undefended for almost a year," Boente said.
