Nick Kyrgios has his best chance to claim his second ATP tour title at this week's Atlanta Open in the USA.

With a number of the world's tennis stars away for the Rio Olympics, the Australian will enter the tournament as No.2 seed and with a bye through to the round of 16.

At No.18 in the world, Kyrgios is also only one spot behind the top seed John Isner for the tournament.

Kyrgios, 21, was knocked out in the first round of the Rogers Cup last week, which was his first tournament since reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon last month.

However his free passage to the second round will see him face the winner of Australian Sam Groth and American wildcard Jared Donaldson.

Groth and Donaldson have won just seven game from 27 attempts between them this year.

Kyrgios' most dangerous quarter-final opponent would likely be Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, while Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov could await in the semi-final.

He claimed his first ATP title earlier this year in Marseille, where he defeated Marin Cilic in the final as an unseeded player.
