He's gone to plenty of Big Bash League games as a spectator.

Now rising Queensland star Marnus Labuschagne can look forward to the best seat in the house after signing with the Brisbane Heat.

The South African-born 22-year-old earned the final Heat contract for next season, rounding out their 18-strong squad.

He was rewarded for winning player-of-the-tournament honours after helping Queensland make the recent domestic one-day final.

The No.4 batsman admitted he was trying to get his head around a potential BBL debut for the Heat.

"I have been to a fair few games (as a fan). It's a great atmosphere," he said.

"I am now proud to have the chance to play in front of a big crowd."

Brisbane mustered just three wins in the 2015-16 BBL season.
