Letter calls for SA nuclear talks to go on

More than 20 South Australian high-flyers have signed an open letter calling for the investigation into storing nuclear waste in the state to continue.

University of SA Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation Tanya Monro and businessman Graham Walters are among 25 people to have put their names to the letter, co-ordinated by the organisation Bright New World.

The state government said last month it wants to push on with discussions on the proposal and has raised the idea of a referendum, but it could not be held without bipartisan support, which the Liberal opposition won't provide.
