Lindt Cafe siege sentence dates ruled out

The upcoming second anniversary of the Lindt Cafe siege has been taken into account by the judge due to sentence the former girlfriend of gunman Man Haron Monis for murder.

On November 3, Justice Peter Johnson found Amirah Droudis guilty of the "hot-blooded and frenzied" murder of the ex-wife of Monis in April 2013.

On Wednesday in the NSW Supreme Court, he heard sentencing submissions before adjourning the case, noting he may have free dates in the last week of the legal term.

But that week included December 15 and 16, the second anniversary of the siege.

Wishing to "avoid completely" taking any steps to adversely affect and distract people remembering the terrible tragedy, he rejected that week and listed the sentence for February 11.
