A 67-year-old man suffered cuts to his head and back after he was robbed while walking his dogs in a cemetery on the NSW south coast.

The man was walking his dogs through Nowra Cemetery on Thursday about 5pm when he noticed a man on a bicycle.

The cyclist got off the bike and approached the man on foot, hitting him on the head and stealing his mobile phone and keys, police say.

The victim was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.
