Man charged over northern NSW shooting

A man has been charged with shooting another man with intent to murder in northern NSW last month.

In the early hours of November 6 police were called to a Nambucca Heads street to find a 21-year-old man outside a unit block with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a stable condition and has since been released.

Following inquiries a 22-year-old man was arrested on Friday in West Kempsey on NSW's mid-north coast and charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Bail Court on Saturday.
