Man charged over theft of AFL player's car

A man charged over the theft of an AFL player's Porsche from his Melbourne home will face court.

Two men were arrested on Tuesday after breaking into Hawthorn midfielder Brendan Whitecross' Croydon home and abandoning the car at the Glen Waverley Shopping Centre.

A 21-year-old Wantirna man is expected to face the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Wednesday after he was remanded in custody, charged with aggravated burglary, theft and theft of motor vehicle.

A 20-year-old man remains in hospital under police guard and is yet to be interviewed.
