Man in court for 'ramming motorcycle cop'

A Brisbane man accused of ramming a car into a police officer on a motorcycle has had a string of charges against him mentioned in court.

John James Appleton, 24, allegedly accelerated his car into the motorcycle at Collingwood Park on Sunday morning, forcing the officer to be thrown onto the ground and leaving him with hand and leg injuries.

Appleton had nine charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to remain at the scene of a traffic incident, mentioned in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The case was adjourned to November 2.
