A man who stomped on another man's head, putting him in a coma, has been jailed for raping the victim's daughter several years later.

David Lance Dennison, 37, was on Friday sentenced to seven years' jail after being found guilty by a jury of raping a 15-year-old girl last year.

The Brisbane District Court heard Dennison dragged the girl into a garage in the early hours of the morning and sexually assaulted her despite her repeated attempts to get away.

Dennison only let the girl go when he heard a noise coming from inside the house and threatened to "get her" if she told anyone what he did.

The court heard it was months before the girl reported the attack because she was aware Dennison had drunkenly assaulted her father several years before and knew he was capable of extreme violence.

In the incident against her father, Dennison punched the man and stomped on his head, putting him in a coma for two weeks.

Judge Gregory Koppenol, who was the same judge who sentenced Dennison to three years jail for the grievous bodily harm against the father, said on Friday he had shown no remorse for his attack on the girl.

"She has relived on a number of occasions, in her mind, the terrible events of that morning," Judge Koppenol said.

"It was a nasty series of acts and you should be ashamed of yourself."

Dennison will be eligible for parole in May 2019.
