Man on child sex offences in Sydney

A man has been charged with child sex offences following a covert online police investigation in Sydney.

In August sex crime squad officers posing as the mother of an 11-year-old girl began engaging online with a man they allege made sexually explicit comments regarding the child and asked to meet the pair for sex.

Detectives on Thursday arrested a a 34-year-old man at Parramatta and executed a search warrant at a home at Berala where they seized electronic devices and a set of handcuffs.

The man was charged with incite to commit sexual intercourse with child aged between 10 and 16, procuring a child under 16 for sex, and using a carriage service to transmit child pornography.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
