A man has been charged after allegedly ramming a car into a policeman near Canberra.

Police were called to a bar on Monaro Street, Queanbeyan, about 2.30am on Thursday in response to reports a man had refused to leave.

Officers escorted the 45-year-old outside before he got into his car, allegedly making threats to them, and reversed into a constable.

He started to drive away but was stopped shortly after and later charged with numerous offences, including intimidating and assaulting a police officer.

He will face Queanbeyan Court on February 13. The constable was treated for minor injuries at hospital.
